Will Google Wave Taking Control In Communication Platform?

Google_Wave_logoOn May 2009, during at a Google I/O conference, Google has announced a new revolution in open web technology which is self-described as a “personal communication and collaboration tools”. This newly Google technology is called Google Wave and it is a web-based service, computing platform and communication protocol in order to collaborate with all e-mail, instant messaging, wikis and social networking.  Thus, Google Wave also can be supported by other extensions that can provide other tools services such as spelling/grammar checking, fully automated translation among 40 languages and numerous other extensions.

Google Wave is fully developed in Java technology using OpenJDK code and using Google Web Toolkit as it web interface. Apparently Google Wave is much more like others messaging system that we’ve been use to such as email or Usenet but, instead of using the standard email protocol which is sending the entire thread of message and all the responses to be stored inside clients inbox, waves (which is referred as message document contain complete thread or multimedia message) will be always stored inside the central server and can perpetually be shared with others collaborators. At this  point, Google Wave can manage all the collaborators either to be newly added or remove from the wave during a wave’s existence.

But then, Google also plan to make this technology goes for open source as they will release it to public and allowed them to develop its features through extension that can collaborate with Google Wave. The point here is, will Google able to take control all messaging services such as email protocol and come out with its own wave protocol in future?

I’m having a little bit of trouble viewing your site in Firefox, but it may just be my computer. Apart from that, I love your site. I plan on browsing around and checking out some more posts!
