As far as we already know, UAC or also known as User Account Control was one of the new features implemented for Window Vista. For those who already has experienced in using Window Vista (any version), mostly you cannot forget how annoying UAC was. Even though it was annoying, UAC has its own role in order to maintain the security and intercept any malicious program from modified program and Windows settings.

Here are a few step to modify the level of alert and notification for User Account Control.

1) First of all, access your User Account from Control Panel.

2) Select “Change User Account Control Settings” and User Account Control Settings window will popup after that.

3) As you can see, this is the lowest level in User Account Control Settings which are not for beginner user. In this level, any modification to program and Windows settings can be make without intercept from UAC. The only security that protect your PC or Notebook when UAC at this level is just your own antivirus. To change the level of UAC, just move the slider to next level and press OK button.

• Level 0 – Never notify.  Windows will never notify you when a program trying to make  any changes  to your computer or your Windows setting.
• Level 1 – Windows will only notify you (without dim your desktop) when a program trying to make  a changes to your computer but it will not give notification for any changes you are trying to make to your Windows settings.
• Level 2 – Default setting. Same as level 1, Windows will only give notification when a program trying to make  a changes to your computer and will not give any notification for any changes to your Windows settings.
• Level 3 – Always notify. Whenever a program trying to make a changes to your computer or you itself are making changes to your Windows settings, UAC will always give notification for that action.
